Getting started with the New Hook Web App!

Hi, Thanks for trying out the new Web App located @ www.gethook.io/web.

The site currently works best in Chrome or Firefox browser, we are currently testing it in IE and Safari.

The Web app has the following features supported

  • Add a Hook with Custom DeviceId and AccessToken
  • Add devices to the Hook
  • Trigger actions on the devices through the dashboard or through IFTTT
  • Group multiple devices from same or multiple hooks together and control their On/Off actions through one button/IFTTT url
  • Change the IFTTT Access token as per your wish, by default it is set to reset after one year
  • Share All devices under a hook, particular device or a group with other users without having them to re-add the Hook

If this is your first time, then sign up for a new account and add a Hook and pair a few devices with the Hook. Once the devices are added you could group them together. One cool thing that you can do is to integrate them with IFTTT so that you can set custom rules like turn on lamp on sunset or have a DO button on your phone, which would trigger your actions and they would be a click away! Lots of cool stuff has been discovered and shared on the forums

If you are joining us from the beta program then just reset your password once and your data is already ported and waiting to go. All functionality in the beta site is already in the site. You will have to change the URL in the IFTTT recipes for one final time. Then on you control the accesstoken and change it when you feel like. It is all yours!

Keep Sharing us your feedback so that we can improve the site and the experience for you.
